Jasmine’s Blog – A week in Italy
I’m back at the Ski Club in the communications department after being in Italy for the Easter break. Here’s what I’ve been up to:
Saturday the 4th of April
This busy day first started off by going for a staff meeting and meal at Giraffe to discuss this week’s plans, before our 19 hour coach journey to Pila. It didn’t take as long as I thought to get everyone on the coach and set off, because everyone arrived on time and were exited. It was a loud and amusing journey with people playing music, singing and talking most of the night. It was fun, but we were exhausted by the time we arrived.
Upon arrival we had a life skill session to explain what was going to be happening throughout the week. We started out with pizza and pasta which was a novelty, but this wouldn’t last long as it seemed to be on the menu for the rest of the week.
On the Monday we set off nice and early to get up on the mountains. Everyone was really eager as for many, it was their first time skiing and snowboarding on the mountains and not on artificial snow. When we got up there half of Snow Camp [which is the excel group] got in to their shadowing groups where they would be learning to instruct for the rest of the week. The other half formed another large group set to improve their skiing and snowboarding skills. This is always more rewarding when not on artificial snow.
Here’s a few pictures of the group
The extra activities scheduled for us were bowling, tubing, going to town, getting ice cream and an awards evening. Which were all really good fun.
After 6 long, tiring ski and fun filled days on Saturday evening we got packed up and ready to go back to London. The journey home was a lot quieter than on the way to Pila as everyone was worn out.
I would like to say thank you to Interski and Snowcamp for this great trip to Italy.
