Gearing up for Summer Parties

With the 2012-13 season all but wrapped up and the last Ski Club Freshtracks holidays done and dusted, it’s time to start looking forward to the summer. Or to be more precise, the Ski Club’s summer parties. That’s right – parties. Plural. The Summer Party has multiplied this year, with Manchester hosting the northern edition on Friday 19 July.

The Midland Hotel in Manchester should be a great spot for the party, sponsored this year by Jungfrau – Top of Europe. We’re particularly excited this year to be holding a charity raffle to raise funds for the UK’s Elite Athletes and Skiing with Heroes too. We’re can raise considerable funds that will give our elite athletes the support they need to make us proud at Sochi 2014 and support the great work of Skiing with Heroes, who send ex-soldiers for a week’s adaptive skiing to help rehabilitate them mentally and physically. If you’re planning on coming along to the Summer party in Manchester make sure you get your tickets while early-bird rates still apply!

The Ski Club Summer Party – London returns to its old haunt at the Hurlingham Club this year. If you’ve not been there before it’s a stunning location with good public transport links. What we’re really looking forward to about this year’s party however is the presentation of the Pery Medal. This is award recognises the dedication and contribution that an individual or an organisation has made to snowsports. It was last presented in 2007 to Austrian ski racer Hermann Meier. We hope that when the Pery Medal is awarded this year you’ll agree that the guest(s) that take home the accolade are worthy recipients!

We’re celebrating the Ski Club’s 110th birthday this year… so both parties are set to be absolute corkers. Hope to see you there!
